Vitrification
Vitrification is a rapid freezing process. It can be used for both eggs and embryos. Eggs or embryos adapt over a period of time when placed in special solutions, and then they are immersed in liquid nitrogen. The vitrification process is performed either manually or in a GAVI machine, which is fully automated. A frozen egg or embryo can rest peacefully and safely, unscathed, for many years.
